The ASL App App Reviews

Great but.....

Great app. Easy to follow. One bad thing: Packages that I purchase do not stay on the main page. When I exit the app and go back in, the package is gone and I have to go and purchase it again each time. Very frustrating.

Education of the Deaf Community

When I use to think of deaf people, I thought of them as people with disabilities. I realize how closed minded and uneducated I was. Once I started learning more about it I realized there is nothing different between hearing and deaf people, just speak a different language, I love learning signs , its fun and it makes me confident when I come into contact with someone who is deaf that I can communicate with them. Thanks ASL app, for teaching and educating us. ❤️

Problems

Is not working. It doesnt run after I downloaded it

Amazing!

Simple, clear, and easy(:

This app is AMAZING!!!

I love this app <3 Im been trying to learn asl for years and, while I know my ABCs, 123s, and several over signs, this app has helped teach me so much more and very easily too, and for very little money (many signs are free though FYI!)

I love it

Is so easy to use!! Im crazy about it!! Even if im italian i can use it bc is so simple!!!! Love ittt

Great for beginners

I love this app! Great for beginners.

Disappointed -not kid friendly

I am a CODA and thought this would be neat to help supplement teaching my two small children. No verbal indicator of the sign, only text, and my kids cant read yet. Also in the "universal gestures" it teaches the sign for "eff you". Dont think their Grandma would appreciate that one.

Recommend!!

I was so eager to learn, I mastered all the original content and purchased the remaining content! The slow motion option really helps a lot! And the attractive signers are a plus too lol

Very Inspiring

What a great and efficient way to help everyone learn! It is easy to navigate through and simple to practice everyday! Im so excited for the people learning more about the beautiful deaf culture that many are a part of!!!

More words please.

This is an amazing app! I really got a kick out of the fact that it teaches people how to sign eff you because I was taught it in college by a friend that took ASL but forgot it. The only thing this app needs is more signs.

Dont waste your time

I am currently in ASL 1 at my High School so I wanted to get an app to practice with. I got this app and thought it was real ASL, not PSL until I saw some vocabulary that our deaf teacher uses often. I am disappointed and feel like this was a waste of time for me. TL;DR: This is PSL, not ASL so verify any signs you learn from this.

Good

I really like this app. The one problem I have is that in the middle of the conversational ones, they teach you a swear word. I totally get that some people might want to know how to say that, but my six year old doesnt. He was playing with the app as he is learning sign language due to a speech problem. I had no idea that was on there, and of course, thats the one he now repeats to everyone. If you want to teach swear words, thats fine, but maybe make it its own pack of words so we can avoid them if needed? Edit: I realize it says 12+ but nowhere does it say anything about why. I just didnt expect the swear words. Otherwise, I thought it was a great app!

Beautifully Simple

Ive no real reason to learn ASL other than not wanting to be unable to communicate with a deaf person when I meet them. This app—even prior to purchasing in-app content—is perfect for just that. Essentially, what you get for free is "small talk." If you want more, the price is reasonable and Im confident that most people will get more out of it than they would a printed signing (strict or conversational) dictionary. Great app, and I applaud the authors for taking the initiative to create it. Thank you!

Great App! Needs a Few Tweaks

I love this app and it is great for beginners. Numbers 11-19 should be included in numbers and there should be a way to practice with it like flash cards. But I love it and it works well. ✌️

AMAZING WORK

I have learned so much from this app in the past few months. I love that Im able to have conversations and build faster and stronger relationships with deaf people. I even earned a sign name from a deaf woman named Liliana and her friends while I was at work!! My only criticism is that we dont learn ALL the numbers. I turned to YouTube to learn the numbers 11-19 and 21-29. Other than that, the ASL app leaves me speechless. Great work guys. ALSO, PURCHASE THE BUNDLE GUYS! It is so worth it!

It keeps crashing but if it didnt Im sure I wouldve loved it.

Keeps crashing

Wrong Signs

I take ASL 1 in my high school and some of these signs are incorrect from American Sign Language. My teacher is a top of the line interpreter so I trust him.

More signs

I think there should be more signs because I want to learn more and I dont think u should have to pay for the signs. Overall I like the app more signs though.

Money

I hate you have to buy everything
